Kristy Pomeroy, LBSW, LADAC II
Executive Director
Kristy Pomeroy is a native Nashvillian who attended Lipscomb University to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Her career led her to working with individuals in the areas of domestic violence, the criminal legal system, the jails/prisons and then to a residential re-entry and medical treatment program for women. It was during that time she pursued and obtained her LADAC II (Licensed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) in Tennessee. Kristy served at The Next Door for over 9 years in the re-entry program, permanent housing complex and as Director of Admissions for Treatment. In the spring of 2020, amidst the COVID 19 pandemic, Kristy was contacted by Jeaneice Shearon about taking over the Women of Worth Transition House Inc (aka Women of Worth Recovery Home.) After thoughtful prayer and consideration, Kristy assumed the role of Executive Director of Women of Worth (WOW.)
Kristy has been married to Shane Pomeroy since 1995. They have two sons, a daughter-in-love, family and many friends who have offered encouragement and support of the ministry of WOW. Kristy and Shane are active members of the Rural Hill Church of Christ in Antioch.
I feel so fortunate to be serving at Women of Worth. Our women come from incarceration with a history of brokenness which includes substance abuse, mental health issues, trauma and more. It is a blessing to meet them in that brokenness and be a small part of their journey!
